Conductor

Scott Rieker regularly conducts four ensembles at Frostburg State University: the auditioned SATB Chamber Singers, the non-auditioned SATB University Chorale, the Vocal Jazz Ensemble, and the non-auditioned Troubadours Tenor-Bass Chorus. He is also the Choirmaster at Emmanuel Episcopal Parish in Cumberland, Maryland, and frequently conducts clinics and honor choirs, as well as benefit concerts around the region.

Rieker has revitalized a number of choirs he has headed, leaving them on a trajectory of sustained, positive growth. These include the Torrance Civic Chorale in Torrance, California—an approximately 100-voice auditioned community choir, USC Apollo Chorus—USC’s tenor-bass ensemble, the Emerson Unitarian Universalist Church Choir in Canoga Park, California, the University of Nebraska–Lincoln’s Big Red Singers show choir, and the choir at the Basilica of St. John in Des Moines, Iowa.
